AISN Partners
The American International School of Nouakchott (AISN) is a leading PreK-Grade 12 institution in West Africa, proudly recognized as a partially funded U.S. State School. With an American curriculum and certified teachers, we provide a rigorous academic experience grounded in AERO Standards, modern digital resources, and a strong foundation in early childhood and elementary education. Our combined elementary classrooms foster collaboration and personalized learning, while our secondary program is designed to prepare students for Advanced Placement coursework and college entrance exams, including the PSAT and SAT.
AISN values strong partnerships with local embassies, NGOs, and the broader Nouakchott community, ensuring an interconnected and globally minded educational environment. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our data-driven approach to student learning, incorporating classroom observations, standardized assessments such as MAP and PSAT/SAT, and student portfolios. This triangulated data system allows us to track and support academic growth at every level.
To enhance transparency and strengthen the student-parent-teacher relationship, AISN implemented the ManageBac Student Information System (SIS) in Fall 2024. This platform streamlines communication, academic tracking, and feedback, further empowering students to reach their fullest potential. With 46 years of tradition, AISN continues to set the standard for academic excellence, character development, and global citizenship. We are proud to be a trusted educational partner in Nouakchott and remain committed to fostering an innovative, high-quality learning experience for all students.
LIONS Club - Spotlights on the LIONS Club Month
AISN Principal Amal is helping AISN Build a relationship with the Nouakchott LIONS Service Organization group, https://www.lionsclubs.org/en. AISN is contacting service organizations and modeling this experience for our students. Last night, grade 9-12 students were invited to a first-time Lions activity dedicated to children with cancer. AISN High School Students received community service points for their graduation requirements. The event was organized by the Lions Club Nouakchott Doyen and the Leo Club Nouakchott Oasis, with the support of Nouakchott Night.
The Lions Club is planning various activities this month. They held one last Saturday related to blood donation at the National Center for Blood Transfusion. An admirable act by all Lions members in support of this noble cause. Donating blood is a vital act of compassion and generosity that can save countless lives. Through blood donation, individuals play a direct role in supporting the healthcare system and giving hope to patients and their families during their most vulnerable moments.
Lions Club is also planning two more activities this week:
-
One for planting trees near the Hospital on Saturday, May 24th
-
And another for distributing water on Saturday, May 31
Our students are participating in both of these activities for their community service hours.
